## What is AI Ready Vancouver?

AI Ready Vancouver is a free, independent project that checks whether Vancouver businesses can be found, understood, and recommended by AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity, not just traditional search engines. We run the same real checks on your site and send you a plain-English report.

Built and operated by two tech professionals based in Vancouver, Canada, as a hands-on way to understand how AI agents read the web. It is not a sales pitch — the report is free to use with this project, a competitor, or nobody at all.

## How the free check works

1. You fill in the form: your business name, website, and email. Takes under a minute, nothing to install.
2. We run the AI audit: real checks for whether AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude can actually find and read your page. No guessing involved.
3. We send you the result: your real score, in plain English, and what it would take to fix. No account, no software to buy.

## The 4 real checks (what we call the AI Ready Score)

These are real checks, not something we invented. Search engines have checked page speed and usability for years. In 2026 a new question got added: can an AI actually use this page? We call how many of these four checks a site passes its AI Ready Score, counted like a home inspection, not a percentage. One source: Chrome for Developers, Lighthouse Agentic Browsing scoring (https://developer.chrome.com/docs/lighthouse/agentic-browsing/scoring).

1. A summary AI can read — a small file (such as llms.txt) or structured data telling AI tools what the business does, instead of making them guess.
2. Buttons a computer can find — clear, machine-readable labels behind the scenes, so phone number and hours are easy to find (not just present visually).
3. A page that doesn't jump around — content that stays put (layout stability), so nothing confuses a computer reading it.
4. Booking without the clicking — a newer way for an AI to get a quote or book directly, not just a phone number to call.

**Is this actually free?**
Yes, no card, no catch. This project is brand new, so right now every check is free while we're still getting it off the ground. That might not last forever, but it will for you.

**Do I have to hire you to fix anything?**
No. The report is yours to use with us, someone else, or nobody at all.

**Is this the same as SEO?**
Related, but different. SEO helps Google rank your page. This checks something newer: whether an AI assistant reading your page can actually understand it well enough to recommend you. A site can have perfect SEO and still fail every one of these checks.
